INVITATION: THE FIRST SCREENING OF THE EMPATHY PROJECT FILM
Thursday, January 20th | 6pm to 8pm | Phoenix Cinema, London
Bel Jacobs and The Empathy Project team would like to invite you to the first screening of The Empathy Project film, a documentary about change and compassion in animal activism.
Commissioned by The Empathy Project, directed by Tristan Copley-Smith, the new film explores and uplifts public concern for animals, normalising advocacy by platforming a wide variety of voices from the movement.
Featuring celebrity chef Alexis Gauthier, former RSPCA Vice President Jane Tredgett and award-winning gardener Cleve West, among other well-known and well-respected names, the film charts the profoundly personal journeys of 12 activists.
In the film, we talk about empathy as a catalyst for change, how outrage can open our eyes to systemic abuse and how (re) connecting empathetically with animals could help spark action to address the ecological breakdown.
The film is part of a broader movement amongst academics, artists, filmmakers and activists, calling for an urgent re-assessment of humanity’s relationship to the natural world, including all animals.
